"Name of Your Project" is a short drama about an overweight teenager, Jason, who has fallen for his personal trainer, Amy. As Jason nears his weight-loss goal, their workouts will soon come to an end - forcing Jason to decide whether or not to act on his feelings.
I'm a Garza High School film student, directing a short film for my summer production class. The Austin Film Festival is working closely with the class, and we will mentored by professional filmmakers throughout pre-production, production, and post-production. This is an excellent opportunity to make connection with the festival.
We plan to rehearse twice during the week of July 11-15 during our class period, which is from 10:20am-11:40am. Our AFF mentors will be with us to guide rehearsals as well.
Format: HDV
Characters Needed:
Jason: male, (looks 17-20 years old), overweight, our protagonist, sarcastic and witty
Rick : male, (looks late 30's to early 50's), Jason's overweight father, quiet
Manager: male or female, (looks 20s to 4os), manages the gym, talkative and professional
Amy: female, (looks late 20's to early 30's), athletic and fit, girl next door type, friendly. Jason's physical trainer and love interest.
Commitment:
2 Rehearsals between 7/11-7/15 from 10:20am-11:40am
1 Day Shoot: July 16th
Compensation: DVD copy provided of the final edited product. The production will be catered by the festival.
Auditions will be held on Friday, July 1st from 10:40-11:30 at Garza High School, located at 1600 Chicon St., Austin, 78702. (Please check in with the office upon arrival. You must bring a photo ID.) There is no need to bring a hard copy of your headshot/resume if you send one digitally.
This is an open call.
